Polyvinyl Alcohol PVA 2488

Product Overview:

PVA 2488 is a white or slightly yellow granule or powder in appearance. It is a water-soluble and environmentally friendly polymer with a wide range of usage. Its performance is between plastic and rubbe with good properties:

1. water solubility: It can be dissolved in water at room temperature.

2. adhesion

3. film flexibility: Polyvinyl alcohol is easy to form into a film, and the formed film is colorless and transparent, with good light transmittance, high moisture permeability and good mechanical strength

4. Chemical resistance: almost unaffected by weak acid, weak base or organic solvent, good oil resistance

5. protective colloid

6. gas barrier

7. abrasion resistance

8. thermal stability: Polyvinyl alcohol softens when heated, and does not change significantly below 40℃. It will gradually color when heated for a long time above 160℃, and decompose  into water, acetic acid, acetaldehyde and crotonaldehyde when it is above 220℃.

Packing and Storage:

Plyvinyl alcohol is packed in paper-plastic composite bag, net weight 25kg/bag, 18MT/20GP without pallets. Other packing 500kg/bag or 800kg/bag is as per customer’s requirements. PVA should be stored in a dry and well-ventilated room, away from heat sources, and avoid sunlight exposure. After opening the inner bag, it should be used up as soon as possible to prevent moisture and caking. In fact, as long as PVA is not in contact with water, it can be stored for a long time.
